3D Cap Mockups: 5-Panel and 6-Panel
ThreadCam lets you place a logo on a 3D 5-panel or 6-panel cap and see it from every angle, which is the quickest way to check a front-panel logo before you order samples. Both caps are part of ThreadCam Pro.
5-panel or 6-panel?
A 5-panel cap has a single wide front panel, so a logo can sit in the middle without a seam behind it. A 6-panel cap has a seam down the centre of the front, which is why most 6-panel logos are compact and centred or placed off to one side. Pick the model that matches the blank you will buy.
How to make a cap mockup
- Open the Headwear category and select 5 Panel Cap or 6 Panel Cap.
- Choose a crown colour from the fabric swatches.
- Add your logo and scale it well down; cap fronts are small.
- Use the Top-Down Spin camera move to show the crown, or Detail Breather to push in on the logo.
- Export a photo or a video.
A note on print files for caps
Export Print File currently uses the same 12 × 16 inch front canvas for every garment, which matches a t-shirt, not a cap. For headwear, treat the file as clean artwork and resize it to your embroiderer's or printer's cap template.
Questions
Does ThreadCam simulate embroidery on caps?
No. Artwork is shown as a flat print on the 3D cap. AI Design Studio can restyle a logo so it looks like an embroidered patch, but raised stitching is not simulated.
