Place, Scale and Layer Designs on 3D Clothing
Placement is where ThreadCam does most of its work: you import artwork, drag it on a flat canvas of the garment, and see the 3D model update as you move, scale and rotate it. It lets you test print size and position before paying for a sample.
Getting artwork in
PNG files with transparent backgrounds give the cleanest result, because anything around your design is placed on the garment too.
- Pick an image from your Photos library.
- Share an image to ThreadCam from another app using the iOS share sheet.
- Generate one in AI Design Studio.
Moving, sizing and layering
Each graphic can be dragged anywhere in the design area, scaled from a quarter of its default size up to three times larger, and rotated a full 360 degrees. You can add several graphics to one garment and adjust each one on its own, for example a small chest logo plus a larger graphic lower down.
The 3D view uses a lower-resolution texture while you drag, so it stays responsive, then sharpens when you stop.
Questions
Can I import SVG or PDF files?
ThreadCam imports images from Photos and the share sheet. Export vector artwork to a high-resolution PNG first.
