Export Mockup Photos, Videos and Print Files
ThreadCam exports three things: a still photo of your 3D mockup, a short video with a camera move, and, with Pro on iOS, a print-ready transparent PNG of your artwork. That covers the product photo, the social clip and the file your printer needs.
Photos
Save Photo captures the current view and saves it to your Photos library. The High Quality Export setting, on by default, saves the image at twice the on-screen size. Free exports carry a ThreadCam watermark; Pro exports are clean.
Videos
Pick a camera preset and record. ThreadCam plays the move and saves a clip of roughly 4 to 12 seconds to Photos.
Print files (Pro, iOS)
Export Print File renders your placed artwork on a transparent 12 × 16 inch canvas at 300 DPI (3600 × 4800 pixels), the standard adult DTG front print area. The file is built from your original images at full resolution, not from the 3D preview, and keeps the position and size you set on the garment. It opens in the share sheet so you can send it to your printer, Files or email.
Printers use different templates, especially for caps and bottoms, so check the size against your supplier's spec before ordering.
Saving projects
With Pro you can save a design as a project and come back to edit or re-export it later.
Questions
Does ThreadCam export 4K images?
Mockup photos are saved at twice the screen snapshot size with High Quality Export on, so the exact size depends on your device. The print file is 3600 × 4800 pixels.
Can I export a transparent background mockup?
The print file is transparent. Mockup photos include the background you chose; use a solid colour if you need to cut the garment out later.
